Objective: continuous learning

Participants are given bite-size foundational drawing knowledge, such as shape, form, shadows, light, stoke techniques, tools etc. After each introduction, they practice with a mini drawing, and instantly experience the build-up in skills and results.

This exercise reflects on the “can’t” mentality and how it blocks us from growing. Participants reconsider learning as a process, rather than an unattainable outcome. The discussion will focus on how to apply a different mentality in personal or work context.

Q&A

What’s your motivation?

In my years as a senior manager, I saw a profound parallel between my art-skill progression and the development of the team members I coached. Often, the biggest blockage to personal growth are the self-imposed beliefs. This workshop helps us look inwards, examine our inner motivations and discover our authentic strengths.

Why a combination of personal and team development?

In organisations, we are only as good as our collective selves. And if we want collective improvement, we must each take our own responsibility and first start changing ourselves. To me, personal development and team development goes naturally hand in hand. This philosophy have shaped my leadership style and this workshop.

Why combining art and personal development works?

Art creates a safe space. This workshop sets itself apart from trainings that necessitate delving into real-life examples, which may be uncomfortable for open discussion. All my exercises are metaphoric mirrors of our behaviours. Additionally, doing an activity by hands is scientifically-proven beneficial for calming our restless minds and improving cognitive absorptions of abstract concepts.

People have no (or varied) experiences in drawing, will they feel uncomfortable?

This workshop is suitable for everyone, from art enthusiasts to people who believe they can’t or don’t like to draw at all. My workshop delivery style is humorous. It’s not about showing off art skills, but about seeing that there is always something new to learn no matter the current level of our skills, sometimes even from the most unexpected corners.

What are your credentials?

Previously, I worked over 18 years in international organisations and philanthropy, across many countries and cultures. Throughout this career, I have built rich experiences in designing trainings, delivering seminars, leading and facilitating workshops. In my managerial functions, I have coached the teams on communications, difficult conversations and collaborations. See my credentials on LinkedIn.
